Honestly, I hang around here because it’s the only place I can find these days where I’m below the median age. I appreciate the sense of youth I get from being in a geriatric crowd.

'69 Z28 bought new 4 weeks after I turned 16. I saved every penny I ever earned up to that point. I was an emancipated minor so I was able to finance the 1,200 I was short.

I think the 327's came out in 1962 or 63. Regarding the "Power Pack", as I recall it was an option on the 283; different heads and a 4bbl carb.

In 1966 I had a 1962 Chevy impala SS rag top that was a 327 4 in the floor.

When I rebuilt my '55 in '73, all I had money for was the engine. No spare; drove it till a tire blew, and bought one more.
Don't want to put such a nice car, as in the OP, in the hands of a teenager.

My first new car was a 66 Corvair Monza with the quad carb 140 hp engine, air conditioning and a 2 speed power glide. I would still be driving it if some illegal Mexican hadn't totaled it while it was parked. That was in 84. Car had 200k miles. PRted it out for more than twice what I paid for it
