So i get access to free Monarch 12 ga 8 shot hulls. i want to reload them but am having trouble finding data on them. They have a good construction and have read that cheddite has the same data. Anyone used these before or have advice?

    Yes, I have used them.
They reload like any other hull and crimp just fine. They can also mess with your 25 of 25 like any other also :)

The Cheddite 209 primers you have chosen are good, as they too load and shoot as just as good as any other primer.

IMO I think it is great you are willing to learn how to reload 12ga. Shotshell reloading is a valuable skill that can keep you alive when there is no ammo available like today. But when this epidemic passes (and it will), my advice to you is to look into buying 250 round cases of 12ga ammo when it is cheap and stack it deep. You will find that buying shotgun components (shot, primers, wads, transfer bars, powder, etc.) and rolling your own will cost you more $ in the long run. It will also cost you valuable TIME at the bench to reload 25 shells which should have cost you $5 measly bucks a few months ago.

Reloading shells is fun (especially with homemade black powder) and rewarding, but only if it is absolutely necessary.

I checked 2 of my shotgun reloading manuals and can not find anything on them. I hate to put a damper on reloading but I reload only Remington hulls and only for reduced loads that my wife likes. Otherwise I don't find shotgun reloading to be cost effective. Especially when those Wallyworlds Federals are so cheap. My cost for lead shot is usually more than just buying new shells. I am really apprehensive about reloading shotgun unless I have an exact published load. Life is short.
