I use red dot sights but practice "instinct" shooting occasionally as well.

All available targeting aids have a place in the toolbox, as you can't know beforehand which you'll need (or use) in a given situation/ condition - "outdated" & "superseded" things like iron sights & point-shooting will always be around, because sooner or later that's all you'll have to work with.
