Where is the best multi-use range within an hour of the Killeen/ Ft. Hood area? Just looking for opinions other then what google says.

Weber's, just north of Troy on I-35 is $15/hr, or memberships. A very nice range, but maybe a little far is Chandler's in Valley Mills, and $15 for all day.

There are supposed to be some nice indoor and outdoor ranges around Cedar Park too. Not that big a drive. Depends on what you want at the time.

There's a few in Cove/Kempner I can tell you about, but overall I would just say go to Hicksville. There's a reason that of all the Texans on this forum-Hicksville is one of our favorite ranges. I think the Houston guys have one they like almost as much, but I'd say Hicksville is THE way to go. Hell, I like Hicksville so much that I carry around a handfull of buisness cards in my Blazer and I rock a nice sized Hicksville Gun Range magnet on the back. It's for them as much as it is for my fellow shooters.

Small, rustic, outdoor, laid back....Mars shooting range (formerly Stan's) Stan's Shooting Range - Central Texas

It's about 6 miles South of Briggs on 183. I see a lot of military folks from Ft. Hood there.

Also, Astro's Shooting Range just a couple miles before you get to the Mars range coming South on 183.
