Question about LTC application and expungement

    Spoke with an attorney and confirmed expungement in CA and TX are different. He explained an expungement in CA may still show on a background check while one in TX should remove the incident entirely.

    He advised that I ride it out and if anything comes up to answer honestly. The time passed from the date of the incident to now exceeds the 5 year mark so I would still qualify for an LTC. As for answering incorrectly, he felt I had a very reasonable explanation for this and again to answer honestly should they question it.

    For those curious about how to answer this in the future - Use the advice others provided here and speak with an attorney, or if the time passed from the date of the incident doesn't disqualify you just list it.

    Did you get the ltc? Wish I saw this thread before applying for mine. Same situation.
