I once could hit this from 500 yds, iron sights with no problem. Unfortunately, over the past 30 years my eyes won't allow that any longer.

I’m right with you in the vision dept. Shot expert each year I was in the Army. Now, Brother, it’s accuracy through volume all the way.

Ran a run and gun match this weekend took about 50 hits for rifle and 50 for pistol.

Cleared all stages and only used 88rnds of rifle and 109 for pistol. Some of the targets were a ways off too, out to 450 for the rifle and 50ish for the pistol. Got me into the top 1/4 of the results. Something like 10% fell-out due to fatigue (it was hot and hilly).

I wish tactical fitness games had come about when I active duty. We did our versions of them under the human performance program and stress shoots, but we could have gone next level smashing those two together instead.

Fortunately or otherwise, while shooting was an important part of our job, we had to focus on the bleeding edge of close air support/close combat aviation and tube fired tactical employment.

That sounds fun. Was there a time limit?

Not really, but you are limited to 180 seconds to get your hits each stage on the buzzer sounds. Sounds like a lot, but there can be a lot of movement... "Sudo" has some great videos "Stillwaters 2022 stage" should get you there.

Run or walk as you can between stages, then 180s to shoot at the stage.

Sounds like fun. Have you ever done one of those “brutality “
    matches before?

No, but they are of the same ilk. Create stress and see how you shoot...

OEDefense is "all natural" obstacles (don't fool yourself nature is brutal), but others I've done have sheer walls, ropes, rope nets, tunnels, kettle-bells, tires etc to carry, hold, throw, climb over, under or through as you do the course.

    Turns out I got 17th out of 146... :)
