HOUSTON — Heads up if you had an appointment at a Texas Driver’s License office today. The Department of Public Safety says because of a technical glitch, all driver’s license offices are closed right now.

According to the Texas DPS, customers who did have appointments were notified. At this point, Texas DPS doesn’t have an estimate of when the offices will be back open, but they say they are actively working on a fix to get things back to normal.

KHOU 11 is continuing to follow the outage and its effects on banks, airports, hospitals and more.

Stay with KHOU.com and our mobile app. We’ll post updates as we get them.

⛔CLOSURE NOTICE: ⛔DPS Driver License Offices (DLOs) across the state are currently closed due to a technical issue. Customers with appointments should have been notified. Our IT teams are working diligently on a fix, however there is no current estimate on when DLOs will… pic.twitter.com/tiQuWE7SUy

I used a screen grab because the alert wasn't shown a few minutes ago on the DPS site.

Oe suggestion; For those in greater Houston, the DPS Office in Pierce, TX, about 45 minutes from Sugar Land, is always a walk-in for immediate service.

One bonus is that (Maurice) Mikeska’s BBQ is only another 5” down IH69/US59.

Yes, my work laptop applied MS patches last night which rebooted during the Crowdstrike issue so it's a brick now. There's a hack that can be done but unfortunately, that laptop is locked down due to HIPPA requirements. My office is 1400 miles away so they'll be overnighting a laptop

Many systems worldwide are having issues.
