I use shooters station because it's very close to Walden where I live, I don't know if they have made some changes lately. There was one younger guy who has small stature and always seemed to be frowning or in a bad mood, thus I didn't care for him. Then one day he was the range person and I thought, here we go.... He ended up being very professional, he helped a few peeps, I had no instances but, a few were being or doing unsafe practices and he rightly so, was on them quickly.
A few days ago, while looking at some STI handguns, an older couple of guys came out of the range with a jammed rifle, they quickly and with authority insisted he take the loaded gun back to range and never to come out like that again with a jam into the store, about 3-4 of us all thanked them after he went back, it was a dumb thing to do.
Everyone experience's different things, mine has been very positive. I don't like pressure when browsing, and a couple times even said something like "sorry for wasting time but I wanted to see such and such" each time they have responded with utmost sincerity and insisted they were there for me and to just holler if I wanted or needed any help.
I bought a Kimber Crimson Carry Pro II a few months back, the price they gave me was pretty decent, I mistook the info and walked out and bought the gun at another shop, in the end, it cost me $50, yeah, I should have went back and bought it there.
People used to complain about a man called "Guy" who, I haven't run across, and hope not too as he is very disliked.
The range is great, and they watch for doe-headed things happenings, as I am 45, and been around firearms my whole life I have had zero instances myself, but seen them in action when someone pulled something stupid. The gunsmith could have charged me a couple times for different things, and never has, he's pretty knowledgeable as far as I know, and nice as can be.
The prices....around here where guns are big, they are competitive, sure across the country you may find cheaper, but in the area, I have a hard time beating the prices, and I've looked.
I always seem to ask for pistols that are hard to keep, last week was looking for a compact .45 Sig, and a HK compact, and an STI Escort, they only had one.
Most people don't know that STI doesn't make the Spartan, and it shows, they are made for STI, and not American made.
The owner was really nice the day I met him, friendly and talkative.
The fact I hate outdoor ranges where you go and put up your own target, usually one can't even work on or load your gun while this is going on due to some idiot in the past has blown a round off down range while people were setting up targets. So everyone must sit back and not touch weapons....I just don't like outdoor ranges, the rifle range uses video moniters to get close up view of target at 100 yards is great and useful.
