    ATF would probably make a good CLP. It removes carbon well, is slippery, and has good corrosion inhibitors. Might be bad for some plastics, tho.
    Wouldn’t be my first choice. A transmission after all is working on hydraulics not just parts being clean and lubricated. I too share the opinion automotive might not be good for some gun plastics.

    I’m not sure if it’s plastic safe but for my communist aka democrat guns, like my ak’s, I used to use bar oil. Worked well.

    An interesting video, to be sure. I have mixed feelings about CLP, and I've been using it (in various forms) since 1979, or so. Are there better cleaners? Yes. Are the better lubricants? Yes. Are there better preservatives? Yes. Do I NEED one product to attempt to perform all three functions? No, I don't In fact, I would prefer to use multiple products that each perform to a higher standard. Just MHO.
