being picked up and jailed for future crimes is a slippery slope.

I know 100 years ago while going to school I said more than one time I need to blow this place up or I am going to kill so and so. Never happened and I never really meant what I said.

Would be nice to know what was actually said and its context. Not that I think what was said and the context it was said in would change my mind about being jailed over it.

But at least it is "something" being done where do we hear this all the time.

Some of you may remember a juvenile song from the 50/60’s that was a takeoff from “The Battle Hymn of the Republic”, that probably would get probably get similar response today.

Re the OP, the link didn't go into detail, but a radio report this morning said the kid posted a picture, of a rifle (AR?) with a list of schools and future dates. I think they said he was 11 years old.

lol If you use old fashioned parenting today. You will be the one in jail.

And no I do not agree with parents being punished for correcting there kids.

Now I do agree with parents losing there parental rights if they take it to far.

What is to far that is a good question. Welts on your butt from a belt sure. Welts or lacerations on your butt from a belt buckle for me that is to far.

Yrs ago I got to visit the DISD 'special' school. LE sitting next to each student. These kids tried to get away with anything they could. Not a great possibility of 'fixing' them. Other thing I noticed, kids could just roam the hall. Seemed to be the problem in the latest shooting. School LE just drinking coffee? Like the Fl shooting?

    Also sad but true.

Almost every parent in town when I grew up would be behind bars in today's environment.
It's not so much 'welts' etc I had in mind... but something much worse, imo.

Some of our parents may have plopped us down in front of the TV, but recall the content, then.

For this last generation - they've been plopped online...by their internet addicted parents. It's no wonder they've turned out as they have.

I personally believe that, no matter how many victims, a news blackout beyond a radius of 30 miles would end these and other sensational crimes

It would help, but it's no longer possible... for the reason listed above.

    Perpetual IMO applied.

Dead bodies (children) will push just about any narrative you want, ie socialist propaganda pushed by teachers, bullying, social media, gaming, outlawing guns, Israelis' in Gaza, etc.. While bemoaning the carnage, the media eat that shyt up.

It's a sad fact, but there are quite a lot of lost causes in the last couple generations due to lack of parenting period. Just look to any of the big city classrooms.

Further attn by the people that know and are associated with these individuals is what is required. Almost everyone of these shootings the ball was dropped.
