I think less and less of the Butt family every day
The same HEB that had 79 of 83 stores in Houston open just 5 days after Harvey hit?
The folks who used helicopters to fly truck drivers from San Antonio to Houston to speed recovery?
The same Butt family that contracted Army vehicles to deliver flats of water to flood victims?
Or the ones that arranged logistics changes to have suppliers deliver direct to stores?
It can't be the same HEB that has a fleet of mobile disaster trailers with on-board kitchens, pharmacies, and ATMs to respond to natural disasters, can it?

They reduce on-site baking to mitigate worker exposure to the virus, and you get a knot in your panties because you can't get your artisan loaf?

    Makes total sense.

In Round Rock I'm told HEB just decided to close their bakery and force a two week leave on everyone working there. In a good socialist society the peasant class does not need fresh bread. After all they would just eat it.

It's almost as if it's a time of crisis and they're doing what they can to streamline their business to serve as many as they can.

What does a privately owned business making its own decision without government interference have to do with socialism?

Just buy the bag on the shelf like the rest of us peasants.

That was in the March 13 announcement on reduced store hours.

I can understand that decision for several reasons.

Hey now. Don’t come in here trying to use common sense. This thread is for rumors or questioning morals and underlying motivations.

    Gunz are icky.
    Sorry I’m late.
Been out in the garage dusting off and rehabbing the big fishing rods and reels.
Been years since they were used.
Was hoping to get in a few weeks of catching some bull reds.
WHAT?!?!? I have to go back to work?!?!?!

I think they are going to use a drive through type setup at the school. The parent drives up, provides ID and they give them the meals to go or something like that..
Yes. This is what MomRoman does for a living as the District Food Service Director. This is the "State" plan at this point.

I believe it will get cancelled before it happens. The only reason its being considered is the "money"....its always about the money.

School funding used to revolve around attendance, then it jumped to test scores. Thanks to Moochelle, nowadays school funding literally revolves around a headcount of how many "underpriviledged" kids you can feed. Of course the "Summer Feeding" programs come into play here also.

My wife is a volunteer at our churches food pantry
They have busted several of the "regulars" coming in trying to hit all the pantries in town trying to hoard free food.

All the pantries are linked up and you cant get food more than once in a 45 day period

When they qualify they get lots of food..a shopping cart overflowing

I know because I've helped load it in their cigarette smoke filled cars

There is a smaller percentage that need it and are genuinely grateful, she does it for them
