Okay mathemagicians here's the question. If I have an optic on a 7.5" barrel and zeroed at 50 yards with 55gr 5.56 ammo and I take the optic off and put it on a 13.7" barrel, how will my POI change and by how much?

Hypothetically speaking, it will impact .5 inches lower at 50 yards. No math involved, just guess work. Probably have to re-zero anyway once you take the optic off. Unless you install it on the same rail in the same spot. But with a different barrel, odds are you will have some horizontal adjustments to make too.

Just a little back story that I didn't include because I didnt want bore anyone. I bought a BNIB tirjicon mro for my solgw 13.7 nox rifle. After 2 range trips, the mro died and I could not get it to work after trying multiple different batteries, terminal cleaning and everything else. It got sent back to Trijicon and I'm waiting to hear from them. In the mean time I'm using iron sights which is fine. I have a holosun 510c elite on my 7.5" ar pistol and am curious as to how it would work if I just threw it on my rifle until I got the trijicon back.

If the alignment remained true, it would be .3 inches lower at 50, according to JBM calculator.

Rezero is the only correct answer. Even the same length barrel by the same manufacturer could show excessive POI shift.

That being said, it's only 50 yards. Point and click.

I think you guys are taking this a little too seriously. I know I have to rezero and can get another optic. It's just a simple question. Geez.

I thought Trijicon was good stuff. My cheap dots always work.
I have several holosuns and vortex optics that work. I thought i would spend a little more and try one out. Didn't work out the way I thought it would. I'm just glad it died at the range.

There are way too many variables involved for any kind of reasonable answer to what is essentially an irrelevant question.
Are you mad you got intelligent answers instead of an irrelevant one?
Or would you rather we gave you an irrelevant answer?

You will be exactly 1.2 minute of barn high.
Now you just have to figure out what size barn.........
