Ty. Steve has helped me with my 1911. I was hoping to find someone closer to my house. I may have Steve do this also.

Anyone have suggestions closer to 281?

    BUMP!!!!

Anyone have the ability to do this in their garage or home?

Some of the shops I've spoken to just do it with the silver sauder and a torch heating the sauder to 1200 degrees. If anyone has expericence with this, can you tell me if this is messy? Does it look clean or do you see silver where the flash hider and barrel meet?

That kind of heat is going to burn back the bluing, wether torch or arc welded. It will require re-bluing IMHO.
