    Leaking like a sieve.

Tire shop won't fix it. Jackasses just want the sale.

Actually may have saved money in the long run.

Nearest Discount Tire is 60 miles away. Called them and the guy told me to order them online and buy the road hazard certificates if desired.

Have them mounted locally and Discount will cover them.

If I am not near a location they will ship one to me.

Shipping on these was free and delivered in just a few days. Saved the sales tax too.

The whole deal was at least $100 cheaper than the local place for the same exact tires without the nationwide road hazard.

    Michelin LTX?

    Yes, Michelin Defender LTXs.

Bought the truck used and have put 40k miles on it since. Front tires are the same and have atleast 10k more miles to go.

No clue how many miles they had on before I bought it.

Pretty quiet, ride nice, plenty of traction in snow or mud, load range E, and wear well. No reason to try anything else.

I have always had good luck with Michelins.

Crazy thing is I have spent a lot of time on jobsites. Much of my family are carpenters as I have been most of my working life.

I have never picked up a carpentry nail in a tire. Most of the time they are duplex form nails or some random screw like this one.

No clue where this screw came from.

Also not very often you see a puncture go into the sidewall and come back out.

That is a pan head self tapping metal thread drywall screw. A lot longer than commonly used....might give a hint where you found it....My guess is hanging cabinets or similar on metal studs.

Could be what it's used for. It's a pretty odd screw.

I use quite a few of its shorter brothers for the little bit of metal framing I do.

    Yes, Michelin Defender LTXs. . . .

Just put a set of those on my F150, except not the load range E version. Pricey, but excellent tires. Great traction and they last a LONG time. I got almost 80,000 miles out of a set on my 4Runner.

Those LTX tires are the best on the market, in my opinion. I'm not sure if they make them for my new truck, but I'll be looking for them first.
