Any thoughts on what's available about the new Romeo8? Maybe some ideas based on experience with other Sig red dot sights?

It's boasting 100,000 hours with a single battery. I'm inclined to believe that's because it goes into sleep mode after 2 minutes of no movement.
It does have several different reticles it seems you can cycle through, and should be much like an EO Tech with the fine dot and a 65 moa donut.

Wish I could help. My red dots are either Aimpoint or Primary Arms.

    This one does look interesting.

I have read a fair amount of positive feedback from others on the Romeo line.

Some models are supposedly better than others, but I have heard enough negative feedback to simply just stick with proven optics. Your mileage may vary.

I've had the Romeo 5 for about a year. No problems with it. I like the auto wake feature for sure. I think they claim 40k hours on a battery.

The Romeo 8T has an MSRP of $720. I think for that money, ACOG.

I have several of the Romeos on our machine guns.....no problems....been selling them for 3 years mostly to LEO's, not one has come back......

Unless machine guns aren't considered serious use.....and if anyone can screw up a sight.....LEO's certainly qualify....

    I am Running the 1, 3, 4S, 4T, 5 and 7....

I kind of lean that way too. The nice aimpoint like the compm5 is up there. On sale itl over $800. The romeo8t on sale is $600 though, about 35%-40% less than an acog

Looks a lot like the vortex uh-1...I’d like to compare the two.
I nearly bought the vortex, still thinking about it...

I also was looking at the Vortex 'huey' a bit. It didn't quite fit my bill for an always ready optic, but I'd be interested in a comparison of the Huey vs Romeo8 if you get your hands on them. They are definitely some big optics. I do like the idea of a large lense with a small frame for good sight picture, but with a much longer lasting power source relative to a Holo sights.

I can't find a temperature spec for the Romeo8. The Aimpoint Pro spec is -49°F to +160°F. Can't find similar information for the Romeo8. Wonder why?

Seems there is no provision for overriding MOTAC.

Honestly I’m at the point of just going with Aimpoints for all of my red dots. I’ll save up pennies if I have to.

They’re pricey but Bomb-proof and batteries that last for years when always-on.

I’d wager that whatever the specs say, anything Aimpoint makes will be superior to anything SIG puts their name on
