I had the privilege to join a certain group of forum members in a clandestine meeting at an undisclosed location over the weekend. We all delighted in tom foolery and the exercise of 2nd rights, however, unbeknownst to the assemblers of a certain firearm, a scourge waited in the background to pounce, and would soon make his self known. As soon as the dedicated group of gunsmiths(whose names have been redacted to protect their identities) completed the assembly of what may, or may not have been, a firearm. The item in question was quickly swooped up to be run through the rigors of combat, and to my horror, the fiend had already struck!!! Malfunction after malfunction proceeded to unfold before our very eyes, much to dismay of the wise and seasoned assemblers. One by one they fell. Ultimately, the battle hardened crew had to give up on the endeavor due to unforeseen technical malfeasance.

That sucker spit brass after I soaked in ballistol though.

    No lubrication was applied.

An ancient sage once told me...

    “Always use your penetrating lubricants”.

    Sooo.... AFAR is humming along?
No, we never did get it to pick up the second round.
Started with a gas tube issue....had to run to town
Then a buffer issue...stripped the buffer off of deadromans rifle
Then we suspected a gas issue but it was getting late.

It goes bang every first shot but VMAX is gonna have to do a bit of tuning.

Damn. What was wrong with the gas tube?

Most likely just clocked wrong. It was a clamp in gas tube which sort of complicated things a bit. There were several other issues. Parts coordination was less than stellar, so there was quite a bit of time spent trying to figure out which parts to use. I actually think if we back the buffer tube out a turn the whole thing will work just fine. Thought about it last night. If you screw the buffer tube in too far, when the spring compresses it wont allow the BCG to travel all the way rearward. Easy way to check it out is to see how difficult it is to lock the bolt back. If its difficult at all, back the buffer tube out a turn and it should be just fine.
