Curious if there are any places left to open carry in the metro area.. Most big box stores fell for the moms demand action and have no gun policies but hardly any stores I see have a 30.06 or 30.07. I Thought Homedepot was OC friendly etc.

Also, I'm not an experienced open carry person so wanted to know if walking into a unsigned place OC would result in cops being called or they will simply ask me to leave?

I'm not asking about open v/s conceal debate, I've read those threads. This is more about getting comfortable and being safe open carrying and where in the metro area.

P.S. my gun identifies as a service animal :)

    Thanks

I see people open carrying in Home Depot on a regular basis. I’ve also seen it in Kroger. I don’t OC so I don’t have personal experience of being confronted. However, I rarely see 30.07 signs

I rarely OC and if I do, it is usually to just walk the dog in the neighborhood. I was at a McD's the other day and an older guy was OCing. He had a pretty crap holster. I think I was the only one that noticed. I support it but put it in a level 2 or 3 holster. I think I have seen OC at the WalMart. I do see a lot of 30.07 signs when I go look for lunch. We like happy hour at Cabana and they are clearly posted.

    Charlie,

There would be no reason to whatsoever.

My point: There's a fractious contingent who hate when people exercise their rights and would love to give them hell for doing so.

If they could, they'd try to tell em what and how to run their lives cuz: They 'know' what's best for what ails the world........and you and I aren't in that group.

They're like liberals, they know best....

    Charlie,

Did you make certain to chastise them if they used regular holsters?

    My guess: You didn't.

I didn't chastise the guy at McD's, in fact I said nothing to him. You are being intentionally obtuse. Why? I dunno. It seems like common sense that IF you choose to OC, using a retention holster would lower your risk of losing said firearm in a gun grab. Hey, carry the holster you want..... Hell use duct tape, I don't care.

    "It seems like common sense..."

Hhhhhmm, where have I heard that one before....?

"Hey, carry the holster you want....Hell use duct tape, I don't care."

How generous and open minded of you...

So you equate "it seems like common sense" with liberal thinking? You have mowed too much in the heat. That is moron sense right there.
