    Gunz are icky.
This year, for the first time, I purchased my 2024-25 hunting/fishing license and public hunting permit on-line.
Used my CC to pay. Transaction processed like normal. This was done on the 21st of August.
Immediately after I received a confirmation e-mail of the transaction.
I had requested a paper license be mailed to me. I also elected for the expedited shipping.
Within three days the FEDEX guy dropped off a package that contained the Public Hunting maps book. No license was included.
I went back and re-read the info on the website. It says it might take two weeks for a paper license to arrive.
When I go on-line and check my license status it just shows last years license dates. Not the new one.

For you folks that have done this How long did it take you to receive your paper license?
Hunting season is almost upon us and I am hesitant to go afield without paper in my pocket. Of course I will take the phone with the e-mail to show The Most Evil Man in the World if he checks me. but....if my new purchase isn't showing up in the TPW app will the warden still ticket me?

IIRC I did a fishing license online a while back and recall a very convoluted process, but was able to print a copy at the end.
It doesn't look like you can go back and do it now, since it shows your previous year, so I'd be on the horn Tuesday.

I believe the website says somewhere that you can carry a copy of the email and that counts as a license until you have received a paper copy.

Atleast thats what it told me when I did my add on for migratory bird + HIP yesterday. The hardware store I get my paper copy from did not have the option show up on their computer for migratory bird? idkl why so I had to add it on myself online. Pain in the ass for sure

I got to the point where I was ready to push the button, but saw that delivery time. I tried it on my computer, and in the TPWD app on my phone, but saw the same thing. I punted - went to Academy and got a paper one. I'd think you'd be fine with the electronic documentation.

You should be able to attach the license to the Texas Hunt & Fish App. Here's a screen shot:

Edit: I was able to put my customer # in the app and it pulled up my current license (and all of them since 2010!)

I’ve just done the online only version for the last several years.
It’s on your phone. You always gonna have your phone.
Found out from game warden couple years ago that suppose you don’t have your phone or your wallet.
If you can remember your full name, address and phone number that was on the license when bought it, they can pull it up.

Yep those game wardens shows always have people who don't have their license on them and they look it up. If they have a current license they always give them a warning about having proof of current license on them.

We know ours in our area. We always call him and tell him when we will be night hunting varmits/hogs. He will come out on a rare occasion and once in a blue moon he will ask if anyone has a license.

And if you can't, you shouldn't be outside by yourself....

GW asked me for my licenses did not have paper copy on hand and phone was in the truck, gave my name , address & phone # he looked it up , all was good. Most wardens are pretty understanding as long you’re not being an ass towards them.
