    I don't really understand why Chase bank won't let my GF deposit a check in my account.
    Not asking for any money back, just a straight deposit.
    I have to do it.

    Imagine not having a DL.
    My wife is retired from banking. She said each bank can set their rules for that. The banks she worked at would allow check deposits, not cash deposits.

    The no cash deposits from another person is a gubment thing to combat drug dealers. And you have to show a DL to make a cash deposit.

    But depositing a check, I don't get that. I rarely deposit checks into my account. My daughter almost always does that for me.

    I should have been more clear in my previous response.

    Yes, cash deposits are not allowed by the fed to combat money laundering (didn't stop Hunter). It is at the bank's discretion to allow check deposits without ID.
