    I've got to say, I never heard of the "mix" shot before.
    But, I've never used a shotgun for anything that didn't fly.

    Back when I did small game No. 6 shot seemed to be the best overall, a bit overkill for quail. The exclusion is waterfowl which a No. 4 steel works good over decoys for ducks and BB for big geese.
