Tonight we were at a local bar and grill having dinner when another regular comes in and sits at the bar. We've never spoken but a few months ago we overheard her having a conversation with a young guy who is black. They were having a woke conversation. Most of the wokeness was coming from her. Near the end of their conversation she told him "I'm ashamed to be white." I think of that every time I see her there. As we were leaving tonight I almost said to her, "See you next Tuesday."

89 in the house. Windows open. Fans blowing. Old school living. I’ll get it fixed. But, I enjoy a taste of how folks used to live. Keeps me humble and thankful.
I've conjured it many, MANY times. High ceilings, transom windows, attic fans, old school HV (no A/C) etc. etc.
I always came back to *it must have been miserable, especially in high humidity areas*. Hope y'all get it fixed soon.

My grandparents never had A/C when my grandfather was alive, and my grandmother didn't get her first A/C unit until the late 1970's.

    Attic fans and swamp coolers.
