    40K in 22 years. Did it set for a while or do you just drive not very much?
    When I bought it it was half as old and had far less than half the mileage. It had also had 7 (iirc) previous owners. It quickly became clear why. Saddled with a little V6, it struggles to pull its own weight and gets terrible mileage, about 12 mpg. I can see why people before me sold it on. I've kept it because I don't use it much. When I need it, though, I really need it. More than that, it's cheaper(er) insurance in case I do something stupid and total my much newer Mercury with ~150k miles on it.
