Going to try my hand at my first NRL22 match tomorrow at the 41 Lead Farm in Lubbock.
Using a barely sighted-in fifty-one year old 10/22 (inherited when my older brother passed) with a (probably) equally as old 4x Tasco.
Apparently I don't want to take advantage of the regular shooters LOL. Should be fun.

I had not practiced any positions. Hell, I only zeroed the rifle at 50 yards this morning and was hoping that I could make a good guess at a 100 yard holdover.
I really did better than I expected, although my score is maybe 160. Scores haven't been posted yet.
Shooting support-side (weak-hand to me) proved to be not so fun. A bipod, or even a bag would have been beneficial, LOL.
So now I'm looking at either a Ruger Precision rimfire, or a CZ 457 American if I can find one.
No good pictures to post. It was a fun day. The weather was quite nice, although I did come away with a bit of a sunburn.
Next month's informal match is supposed to be in Amarillo at somone's house (Ranch). Apparently he has a fourteen hundred yard range. Sounds like it might be a good place to shoot.

Edit: turns out my score was 155, good enough for 10th place out of 17 shooters. High score of the match was 309.

I'd go CZ too, there is a post from TODD&JOYCE about a new rim fire .22 for precision.
He went withthe CZ in the end.
