So, a buddy calls me the other day....seems a local pawn shop just put a Norinco 1887 lever action out in 12 gauge. Well, it wasn't #1 on my "to-buy" list, but I've been installing softeners like a madman the past couple of months, so I figured it was time to spoil myself a little. Besides - the asking price was good!
Walking in, I was prepared to see a shotty that'd been obviously handled. Not abused, but handled quite a bit. Instead, what I found was one that looked near-new, with VERY tight action and a beautiful bluing job. After a little good-natured banter with the staff, we arrived at a price that I just couldn't pass on.
I hadn't paid much attention to them in a while, but after I got home, it appears that they're no longer being made - and what few ARE available seem to be going for stupid prices.
