I stopped by Academy in north Dallas today. Nothing but 12 gauge and 30 30 on the shelves. I wanted 9mm, 40cal, or 38 Special. Nothing. The Glock case was totally empty except for a cardboard sign. A guy was at the counter looking at a CZ.
Disappointing visit but I will try again during the week.

Ive been in NY state for the past few weeks and its pretty much the same up here

There is one awesome lgs that hasn't gouged their prices. I was able to get 200 rounds of 44 mag at $35 a box and a good amount of reloading supplies. I am going to stop at every gun store on the way back down home to see what they have.

6 months later, MTA finally arrives in Texas and unloads his ammo...

I stopped by an Academy yesterday too, there was plenty of 5.56 there, however it was all in the truck of the TGT member selling it. Didn't see any actually in the store. :p

I know I know it's anticapitalist to say this but that person should be arrested and charged under the price gouging law.

We're still in a state of emergency and ammo is a necessity in my mind. **** that guy. I would have dressed him down. You all think I wouldn't but you do not know me in the slightest except a few meet ups. One of the reasons I was so beloved and hated in the Austin singles groups is I wouldn't hesitate to publicly state in person if a person was a piece of shit or a whore. This is even worse than that so I'd definitely tell him he's a piece of shit.

If I ever see it done I'm going to do that, then I'm going to call the FTC. SELLING AMMO IS ILLEGAL AS A BUSINESS UNLESS YOU'RE LICENSED TO DO SO. You realize these ass clowns doing this could **** all of us? They could make it to where any resell of ammo is a federal crime and you all just keep letting it happen without dressing these asshats down.

MTA - The Academy on Northwest Hwy near Skillman in north Dallas. Somewhat new store - used to be a car lot which sat vacant for quite a few years. Then maybe last year a bunch of new retail was built there. Saturday was the first time I had stopped there.
There were a few boxes of 30 30 but not much and probably gone by now. I could have grabbed them for you if I would have known. Some 12 gauge and a few guncleaning supplies. Not a hell of a lot else. I cruised thru and left. I need to check it out again.

The price I paid was the same price as I would have paid pre-rona and well below what Academy is selling it for right now. Not sure what the problem is in that, unless you are saying no one should sell anything ever.

No, its not just anticapitolistic, its straight up socialist.

The market for ammo and firearms is volatile and highly elastic. Its not much different than the oil market, there are lean times and fat times. Maybe you think we should just pay a little more in taxes and have the Govt give us each a ration of gasoline to fix the price gouging oil execs.

Primers are the hardest reloading component to find during shortages. However, primers are also pretty easy to keep in reserve, it’s just a matter of doing it. At normal prices $150 will provide a comfortable supply. They’re lightweight and don’t take up as much space as a reserve of fully loaded ammo.

Every business tries to buy low and sell for max profit. That is how, and why, our system works.
If you don't like neakbeards, don't buy from them. Real simple. The sooner folks stop buying from them the sooner they stop.
Other than not claiming the profit as income, I don't know of any law that stops someone from selling ammo, even at a profit, that they bought legally. State or federal. Guns yes. If there is one, someone please post the specific law.
Some years ago my Grandfather ran a food wharehouse that also had ammo. They would sell to any business that wanted to stock it.
And no, I don't buy and sell ammo. At least not for profit.

I've never reloaded ammo before, but I'm curious.
Wouldn't all the components, and their containers, required to create 50 rounds, take up more space than 50 loaded rounds?
