If LaPierre would step down from his position, and away from trying to direct any NRA operations, I believe there would be a quick surge in membership. The biggest thing the NRA has been known for since he took over the leadership position is pissing away money, on salaries (especially his own), and BS programs that add nothing to protecting gun owner rights!!

Alot of people I encountered in the last NRA expo said they too feel Wayne needs to retire and move on for the good of the organizations and allow people like Kim Rhode or Allen west to take over and start a new horizon and have massive recruitments and expanding more on youth movements like increased funding towards shooting groups and creating more opportunities to make this happen.

Yes still a lot of us Lifetime NRA Members still around. WLP has made it all but impossible to ever get rid of him because of his cronyism with the board members. You know it's bad when Ted Nugent and LTC West told WLP to F U C K off and walked away from their board seats. Neither are known to be "quitters", but they saw the writing on the wall and walked.............

Until the board members revolt nothing will change.............

For those younger, or who have forgotten:

The 1960’s was a decade of communist subversion in the world’s Universities. I was in Med school @ New Orleans 1965-‘69.

One Friday afternoon after school, we. stopped at an area watering. hole for a coldbeer on our ways home, and fellows pulled-out the fresh issues of Time, Newsweek, & U S NEWS & World Report .The magazines were lined-up atop the bar.

All 3 had cover stories on one, incident, the same riot.

Time said: Innocent demonstrators were brutally attacked by police in an unprovoked charge.

NewsWeek said: Several were injured in a clash b/t demonstrators and local police.

U S NEWS & World Report said: After numerous increasing charges by the rioters, and several Police had been sent to the hospital with head injuries from thrown bricks & stones; the Police reluctantly fired tear gas and non-lethal projectiles into the rioting crowd.

To us, also students but slightly older, it was very obvious what was going-on.

Our media had fully invested in their long campaign of hype & LIES, to promote communist subversion.

The left is doing cartwheels, while gun owners know better. The NRA has been ineffective and WLP’s personal ATM for years.

I bet the number of folks leaving the NRA, is balanced by folks joining other, more effective gun-right groups.

FPC and GOA are way way way way more effective and the liberals don't talk about them, which is good for us.

That is the impression we all got at the Houston Expo. Something is going to have to give in the coming future.
