    I have my grandfather's single six. Its old, and not in 100% shape, but I love it.

    I used to take my son to the desert and set him up on a folding table.
    I showed my son how to load and unload it. Taught him proper handling, and handed him a brick of 22lr. Throw in a zombie target that he picked out at the gun shop and he was good for a while.

    The single action revolver made him slow down, aim, and make all 6 rounds count.
