Picked this up yesterday, a pretty clean and original '91 F-350 CC SRW, 7.3/ZF-5, 4.10 LS, about 140K on it from new. Not the prettied thing, but runs and drives well and not ragged out like most old Fords - and was in budget!
    Don't hate me, SATX!

I bought a 1990 F250 extra cab 6.9 idi (iirc it was 6.9) with 189k miles on it.

I drove it for another 20k miles, then gave it to my brother, who ended up giving it to a cousin at @ 305k.

I bet you have a few miles of life left in that thing :)

My BIL had a 6.9 with an ATS turbo on it.
What a great truck for that era...even if the turbo wasn’t factory.

Those idi 7.3s are crazy loud straight piped. Good find. Don’t see many around these days.

Dude nice! An idi is on my wishlist

They're getting hard to find! Seems they're popular south of the Rio Grande due to the simple fuel injection system and ability to use nearly anything for fuel.

Grats, but tell us about the Harley parked next to it.

Dunno - not my photo, not my ride!

A '90 would've had a 7.3 when new, they're the same engine except bore size and minor details. They last and last when maintained!

    I think it's really electric.
You can see it's plugged in and charging...

It sat long enough the batteries died, as did the air conditioning - which will be fixed tomorrow.

The Ford factory turbo systems offered in '93 and '94 (pre-PSD) were ATS sytems, unfortunately ATS is long out of the IDI game. The most popular kits today are the Hypermax, Banks, and used Ford/ATS kits. I may install a turbo in the future, but most likely not really soon.
They REALLY wake up with a good turbo and a 'tuned' injector pump!

It has stock exhaust aside from a glasspack, that 21.5:1 compression lets itself be heard! Believe it or not, Dynomax makes a complete exhaust system for these - part number 19430 - that's supposed to be worth several HP and some MPG as well.
    Video from YouTube:
I'll most likely install that system after some other repairs and improvements.
