This is the first I've heard about it... excellent! Very close to my home as well. Infinitely better than the drive to DFW Gun on Mockingbird lane.

I emailed these guys and asked about the use of registered pistol caliber sub-guns at their range, and the reply was GO FOR IT. Sweet! So NFA guys can fire their weapons there. I'm really fired up about this range.

Nice!!! I have been looking for a range closer to me. I usually go to Elm Fork, as it's really the only range that I have ever been too. I have heard of Winchester Gallery, but never been there either. There's got to be one closer to me then driving to EF on a Sunday afternoon... :)

Any good suggestions for an avid pistol shooter in N. Arlington?

    Thanks!

North Arlington? I would say Winchester. Shoot Smart's location looks like I can go to Cabella's, then Cheaper than Dirt, hit a gun show in Ft. Worth, then stop and shoot everything on my way home to Denton....sweet.

So we went yesterday, I had a lot of fun. I apologize in advance I have a TERRIBLE time with names and I can't accurately recall everyone we talked with yesterday. But we did talk with 4-5 guys who worked there and everyone was amazing. In between shooting and hanging out in the lounge we probably talked for at least an hour. We had 2-3 guys check-in on us while shooting, totally unobtrusively and they'd give us pointers and such.

While in the private shooting lane I decided to install a 3.5lb connector bar in my Glock 26 and one employee came in and helped me. I was very grateful for that, I'd never disassembled my gun beyond a basic field strip. We also had another employee come in and give us pointers on shooting my boss' Sig 556. He has a ton of good info and was very knowledgeable, we talked for a good 20-30 minutes.

The facility rocks, I was really impressed. Of course everything is brand new. When you walk in there is a nice store front section with clothing and gear and such. They also sell ammo both new and reloaded. Prices are good/reasonable, actually lower than any other range I go to but not quite as low as you can find at the store on special. We signed up for the private lane with no wait and were escorted back and shown to the staging area. They have a portable bench rest for shooting rifles. In the private lane you can draw from a holster, rapid fire, etc. You can do almost anything you'd like I was really impressed and had a ton of fun.

The range equipment is sharp. I'm not knowledgeable on all of that stuff but everything worked smoothly and quickly. Getting your targets up and down range was fast, getting them back was smooth and fast. I had no issues whatsoever with the range equipment. Towards the back of the building they are already working on building 8-10 more lanes (IIRC) and we were also told in the future they have big, big plans. I don't want to say anything that may not be completely accurate, but everything we were told sounded very cool and reasonable. :)

Lounge has free WiFi, free Wii, magazines, comfy chairs, music playing, and a hand and eye washing center. All free. Coffee and water is $1, very reasonable.

Overall, I had a GREAT time and I'll be back for sure. :)

Inside the private shooting lane. Completely open.

A small section of the shooting lanes. This area is really nice, but we did not shoot here that day. Lanes are wide and roomy, area looked clean and well ventilated.

View of the lounge area. I hung out here for a bit and got on my laptop and talked to some folks.

Door leading back to the Front store area and check-in/out area. I did not take pictures of this area, but it was nice just like the rest of the facility. :)

And lastly, my boss shooting his 556 in the private lane. We had a blast! It got a bit smokey lol. Between our two pistols and his rifle we probably shot 1,000+ rounds.

Thanks for the range report. So they allow .223? Cool... muzzle blast must be tough! What is their policy on shooting cheap FMJ ammo like Wolf and such?

AFAIK in rifle ammo most stuff is good, but no green-tip (armor piercing?) stuff. We had an employee look at our ammo and he didn't say anything. It was cheaper Russian "Tula" brand. We also had 2-3 other employees shoot the rifle.

In the private room it got pretty dusty, we had to step out occasionally to breathe. They said they are going to work on fixing the ventilation.

I went there yesterday ( Thursday) during the day, only a few people there. They gave me the royal tour. I didn't shoot as I was only checking out the place. I will definately use this place. AND.....they have guns for rent, All are brand new. They don't have many yet but several Glocks and some Rugers....and they have the Ruger SR9C which I have really want to shoot. Only $10 to shoot any handgun they have, as many rounds as you can pay for. I will go back next week and test the SR9C. Also they have good prices on ammo. Their Federal 9MM & 40 S&W are cheaper than Walmart. I will let you know how I like the Ruger SR9C

I met one of the owners at a gun show at Will Rogers in FTW a while back. She was there advertising it before the opening. Very nice lady. Was talking about the construction and costs.

I just wish she'd open one in Coppell or Las Collinas here near me!!
