Please take your time to explore your new culture.

Sadly, you are not in one of the "good eats" parts of the South. Please try WhatABurgers, Tex-Mex, BBQ & fried catfish, which you do have. A word on Tex-Mex & BBQ: Try many small eateries to find the great differences in those regional foods. In general, "hole-in-the-wall" restaurants are better than chains.

Since firearms laws are so very different, please take the TX concealed weapons course ASAP.

The farther South, the nearer the Gulf, one goes, the people become more tolerant and the foods better. Also, the winters are milder, with very rare freezes or snow.

This site is a great place to start your orientation.

If you seek a large city, try San Antonio. Our Nation's 7th or 8th largest. Costs of living are very low and entertainment is plentiful.
