I went with the 6.8mm, built the rifle about 2 years ago. I looked into the 6.5grendel and honestly can't remember why I decided to go 6.8mm.

Shot 2 deer and a pig with it this season, it worked well. I hit the pig broadside, it broke both shoulders and went out the other side.

    I have a 6.5G

Great for deer and hogs in TX

But unless you reload ammo has gotten very scarce for this round

It's been a good read here but I'm still working out feeding issues on my 7.62x39 upper. Knowing the Grendel is based on the same case I imagine it would have the same problems. I like the idea of the 6.8spc but for now I'm keeping with the classics...223, 7.62x39 and 308. Probably a bad year to try out a new caliber anyhow.

I got a deal on a 224 Valkyrie. Bought for my girls to shoot. Daughter shot her first deer with it last week. Crazy low recoil. Ballistics not too far off from 6.5 Creedmoor.

Ammo has been available due to lower number folks that have one. And I have a bunch for sale. I bought a ton to see what was most accurate. But I lost track of what I had and ended up with lots of dups.

2 years ago I went from hunting deer and hogs with 30-30 to 6.5 grendel. The 6.5 is a much more pleasurable round to shoot. Less recoil, it is much lighter and has less recoil.

My 6.5 is just about my favorite AR. It can be a bit picky with reloads on its accuracy but overall its shoots well. Never had any feeding problems with it. I use the Elander mags in it.
