I was on a plane to NC back in 2008. The lady next to me saw I was in the military and said thank you for your service. I told her I am brand new and havent really done anything to be thanked. She said its important to say thank you to military members now since she treated vietnam vets poorly when they came home
I told her maybe she should go thank a Vietnam vet then. Fucking commie
Pete fled across the East German Wall to join the US Army, and went to rotary wing flight school.
Fearless and skilled, one time getting us to the ground after losing a tail rotor to a .51 MG, in a place we weren't supposed to be, and just in the right spot to preclude a one way trip to the Hanoi Hotel.
Pete flew into a side of the Zuc Me Pass on a trip, at night in a heavy fog, from Ban Me Thuot to Nha Thrang to pickup a new-in-country Sgt Major and Capt, no survivors.
Never got to the Wall, so thanks to the OP for the thread.
