Cant think of a group of veterans I have more respect for. Going over to fight in an unpopular war against soulless commies and coming home to filthy animals spitting on you is awful

I am only 30 but have made it a point to fly the POW/MIA flag on my property ever since I have owned a house or a vehicle. Vietnam vets have some big brass ones and they have my eternal respect

To all who served in Vietnam (and elsewhere), thank you for your service.
To those who are no longer with us, R.I.P.

I have a good friend who served in Vietnam. I heard on the radio on Sunday that they were giving away for free the Texas edition Vietnam War 50th commemoration book A Time to Honor: Stories of Service, Duty and Sacrifice to all veterans who served in Vietnam.
I immediately contacted them with a request to send a book to my friend. To my surprise, they hand-delivered it to my buddy the very next day. I was flabbergasted. And he was very surprised.

Septuagenarians don't have "best friends", but he was a little league team mate, college roommate, best man @ my 1st wedding & a Vietnam war vet who lost a leg after jumping out of a burning Huey at 40 feet off the ground. He's still with us & is my inspiration when my arthritic knee acts up.
