My daily carry is a Glock G20sf. I've been wanting a 1911-style in 10mm and have had my eye on the SR1911. Although I shoot the G20 well I've got small to medium hands and the 1911 style fits better. I didn't want bright stainless and the black nitride finish works for me. I didn't care for the original grip panels as they made me think "naval theme" so I immediately swapped them for the Altamont grips.
I like the overall fit and finish. A quick strip, cleaning, and inspection followed up with good oil was my first order of business. It looks good inside and out. I'm anxious to see how it shoots. But that will have to wait a day or so.

    Obligatory pictures follow :)

Well cool! Seeing the collections in this thread I know (and knew) I was in good company.
It's possible we'll get out to the range today. I'm looking forward to how the new pistol works for me. They've got a rental .45 available and I might give that a try since I am interested in a comparison.
A few months ago I bought her a Kimber micro9 Nightfall and she hasn't had a chance to shoot it yet so she's looking forward to some range time also.

    Shots fired.
I stapled a target to the old stump and put a box of Sig Sauer Elite Performance 180gr FMJs through the Ruger.

The first picture shows the first eight rounds (nine actually, I jerked the last round completely off the paper.) Shooting was done at twenty-three feet at about a second and a half per shot. I was aiming at the center of the diamond.

The next picture shows the remaining rounds fired. Again, all shots at the large diamond were aim, squeeze, reacquire, squeeze, reacquire... about a second and a half per shot.
The upper left dot was five shots taking careful aim. The upper right dot was eight shots doing the same.

I worked both magazines and had no glitches. The pistol felt good in my hands. I'll use the Sig ammunition for break-in and then I'll get serious about finding what the pistol likes to shoot.
Please don't try to read too much into the targets. I am not known for my trigger habits and accuracy. I still catch myself jerking the trigger too often.
