Don't think yourself special, I pick on people non descriminately.
Ah, you've discovered my strategy.
You need to get your ears re-calibrated, they are out of spec.
My 10/22 Takedown is pellet gun quiet. Probably has something to do with that Mist-22 and polyurethane bolt buffer, but whatever.
Yeah, but I've just got the standard factory barrel...
It's mystery wrapped in an enigma............or you're as deaf as people have been saying.........
Considering that everything else we shot sounded exactly as I expected, it's probably not my ears.
Keep telling yourself that, but get your ears checked out.
If the idea of low sound per this rifle were so, wouldn't it be marketed?
My Savage bolt action is insanely quiet. Just a hammer click and a pfft. Might be the SilencerCo Sparrow suppressor though! I use the CCI standard velocity. My take down 10/22 sounds just like any other rifle though unless I switch the suppressor over to it.
Standard velocity is also much quiter than high velocity. I noticed that when shooting my little Marlin 39a Mountie last week. I actually checked to make sure the bullet had cleared the barrel. Blowing into the open breech made smoke come out of the muzzle so all was good.
