I sold my Colt Gold Cup a while back and I've been looking for a nice 5 inch Colt 1911 to replace it. Every single one that I can find has an awful idiot mark on it. I have found a Combat Elite that is in 95%-98% until I turn it over and there it is! Why can't people assemble a 1911 without dragging the slide release up the side of the frame?

If you are thinking about Nighthawk, I would recommend looking at Guncrafter.

I have compared them side by side and Guncrafter has notably better craftsmanship. Much better fit.

The Nighthawk I had briefly had a large machine mark (over 1" long) inside the slide. Now some will say, "that doesn't show". But on that expensive of a gun, I find it inexcusable.
