Looks like if you'd like to shoot it's $75 plus ammo is what they are saying if you can find someone there to sponsor.

The way I read it was that it was 75 + 25 and you have to buy their ammo. I am sure it is great for some that don't have any title II weapons and just want to try a couple.

I, personally, can't see spending a c note + on shooting MY gun at YOUR range. I guess I would rather shoot mine in the desert for free.

Like I said, I am sure that it would be neat for some others, just not for me.

    Out here by the lake!
I seen it listed somewhere. I'm working the Texas Renaissance Festival so my weekends are tied up. I became a member of the Texas Gun Collectors Association to attend the Y.O. Ranch shoot. IIRC it's like $350.00 to attend. I figure it should be worth it after 8 weeks of working 80 hours.

That is pretty much insane, since you can shoot for free just about anywhere else in Texas with no ammo restrictions. And if LaRue is involved, free food and swag to boot!

    Cawthon machinegun shoot

It is a little discouraging to see all the armchair smack talk about the shoot. This was my first time out with my 91 and 93 sear guns. I had a BLAST! It was laid back (started late) but held on a beautiful 800 ac shooting club with with some of the nicest people I have run across. Several dealers there and one rolled out 20 plus pre and post sample weapons. Have at it guys!!!! As a newcomer I didnt abuse the invite but shot an AUG and my 9 yr son shot both of mine and several subguns and suppressed weapons. I took a chance on the ammo issue but the description of the event and what actually went down were completely different. I would go again tomorrow. Maybe it is the newbie in me but it was a kick in the pants to watch a dude on the SAW burn through a battle pack terminated by an explosion from tannerite in the props. Thanks Noble, Scott and the brothers (forgot your names). I learned alot and had a fantastic experience.

Glad you came out, it was a great time, we kept shooting till we ran out of tannerite around dark, overall me and my brother finished off almost everything we brought. Next time people have a question about a shoot they should call ahead and verify, because they missed out on one bad ass and quite good deal considering what they provided.

Basically for $100 bucks we were given the opportunity to go out and shoot on a great wide open range out to 300yds, they supplied cars and all kinds of appliances to shoot at, gave us over 50lbs of tannerite to shoot at all day long and provided lunch for us. Not a bad deal at all. between me and my brother we did an ammo count afterwards and we went through over 1500-223, 1000-9mm, 100-300 win mag, and got behind the m249saw multiple times, So that $100 is a drop in the bucket compared to the mayhem and laughter that we got in return. Wish some other folks could have made it, but it did not hinder my day at all. Hope you and your son had a good time, look forward to seeing you guys out again, might put on a shoot up here in etex on my land in the spring so you guys are more than welcome to come shoot with us anytime. Just so you remember us nextime- the brothers (Jake and Will)

I have not read any "armchair smack talk" on this thread....until now. Glad you had a good time. All that was said, was that most people don't want to pay a $100.00 to shoot at some old cars and have to buy the events ammo. I am sure not going to spend $15 or $25.00 to WATCH. If it was for charity, that is one thing.

To each their own, I guess. If you want to do that....fine . I can buy my own Tannerite and use my own ammo out in the desert.
