The gb has the octogon 26" barrel (blued) and the sbl is 18.5" stainless with big loop, ghost sights (or X-ring) and laminate wood stock.

those bbl markings look to mean its Remington made

still valuable, just not in the same range as a genuine Marlin made rifle

put it on gunbroker, someone will pay 1500- for it

What would make the difference between a $1300 1895GBL and a $2600 1895GBL?

One with a set price of $2,600.00 amounts to greed on the seller's part and one bought at that price amounts to stupidity or ignorance on the buyer's part. Greed & stupidity/ignorance make for a lot of difference in low to high prices when it comes to firearms sales.

I just checked GunBroker by way of an advanced search for sales of this model over the past year. The one that sold for the highest amount was brand new and it went for $1599.99 today the new one for the lowest amount went for $1,375.00 in mid July (new old stock). Sure some folks asked for much more - but none of theirs sold. Another new one sold for $1399.00. Others that were used sold for from $1,175.00 to $1,550.00; that higher priced one sold in mid August 2022.

I had one, it has surprisingly light recoil for a caliber that large.

I'll check, but I believe mine isn't a marlin. Due to the year of production it should be a remlin ( '17 )?
