CORPUS CHRISTI - A man whose arrest on drug charges Sunday was caught on camera and has been released on bond.
Roy Sauceda, 46, was arrested after police kicked in his door and found drugs, drug paraphernalia and methamphetamine's in his home.
The drug bust happened Sunday morning in the 4100 block of Verner after a neighbor called 911 and said a man could be heard screaming and beating on the walls. One neighbor caught the entire arrest on camera.
Officers kicked down the door and when they got inside, they seized drugs, drug paraphernalia and $1,500 in cash. There was also methamphetamine's in Sauceda's pockets. Police said Animal Control also had to be called out for Sauceda's vicious Rottweiler's.
"It became very clear that this person was under the influence and narcotic paraphernalia was found and narcotics were found, and upon his arrest there was a cash seizure that was found," CCPD Uniform Division Capt. Wayne Tisdale said. "The three dogs that were inside the house were violent toward the officers. The officers were able to get the dogs contained."
Neighbors said drug arrests like that are becoming all too common in that part of town.
"I couldn't believe that could happen in my neighborhood," neighbor Albert Vargas said. "I heard some booms and it was the police officers kicking the door down and he came out in handcuffs and that was it."
He also said that isn't the first time the police have been on Verner Street for a drug bust. Last March, in the same neighborhood, officers found crack cocaine, $700 in cash and a rifle. Six children were also removed from the house.
Vargas said after Sunday's incident, he believes the once peaceful neighborhood is taking a turn for the worse.
Concerning the incident, police said when they arrived to Sauceda's home, he was still inside screaming and beating the walls.
Sauceda was arrested and booked into the City's Detention Center on possession of a controlled substance charge. Residents on Verner Street are hoping that is the last drug bust in their neighborhood.
    "God Bless 78415," Vargas stated.
