A 37-year-old man was arrested early Monday morning after deputies believe he fired a gun during a domestic dispute.
A woman told them her boyfriend had refused to leave her property despite persistent requests, so she called a friend for help, according to an arrest affidavit.
The woman’s boyfriend told deputies the friend came out of her house with a handgun and started hitting his car with the gun, the affidavit says. The man said he then heard the friend fire the gun but was unsure which direction he fired, according to the affidavit. The woman told police her friend had followed her boyfriend in his vehicle, then she heard a gunshot “but was not sure of the direction,” the document says.
The friend told deputies he showed the gun and fired it at the ground, according to the affidavit. Deputies arrested him on a second-degree felony charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
