What is the difference between the sear and the lightening link?

I have zero knowledge about full auto stuff.

You can fabricate a link out of an old hack saw blade and convert a standard AR to full auto

Lighting Link do not need a sear cut lower. DIAS needs the cut.

Might be time to flip mine. Not many ranges around here that allow MGs, let alone rifle caliber ones. :(

Ever since Best of the West closed down it's been suck around here.

Too pricey for this guy. If I ever find myself needing an automatic rifle/PCC, I am pretty sure there will be ample opportunities to pick one up off of the ground

    Hoji,

The last time that I looked at FULL-AUTO belt-fed REAL general purpose MG, there were PLENTY that are registered & LESS than 35000.oo.

The ONLY machine gun that I'm interested in owning is an OVER a CENTURY old Maxim-gun, i.e., The Devil's Paintbrush.
(As an OLD/retired MP, who was once a "Black Hat" on the Weapons Committee at USAMPS, I've spent LOTS of time shooting M60 & numerous other MG & SMG of all sorts & just cannot "get overly excited" about buying a NEW gun, with the POSSIBLE EXCEPTION of a REAL AR-18, with the "P" serial number. - I saw & got to shoot a REAL one, that belonged to a Flag Officer of the National Police in a South American nation in 1996.)
Note: There are more OUTRIGHT FAKES (made OCONUS) & offered for sale as "P-number" guns than AR ever made. - That said, the "General's machine-rifle" convinced me of the SUPERIORITY of the AR-18, when compared to the AR-15/M16/M4.

    yours, satx

Don’t believe all the prices you see on the machine gun price guide. I’m a MG collector, active in the transferable market.
There's 1000's of MG collectors all over the country.
I have numerous NFA items I bought over the last 30 years.

Most, if not all C3 dealers are choking on their MG's because they're waaaaay over priced in this chit can economy.
Private owners have been selling back to C3 dealers for the last 10 years & getting peanuts.

It will never be a buyers market or sellers market ever again.

So are there alot of those pre 86 sears just floating around or how does it work lol. I'm guessing a finite number?
Enough that there will never be a shortage since very few are buying anything full auto these days due to people having less $$.
In the early 80's they were $1500.
Glad I got one when I did.

    In the early 80's M16's were $2000-$2500.
Glad I got one of those too.

I'm not selling at any price.
    Don't need the $$

You can still buy M16's for less than $20,000
$35,000 is insane & the seller don't really want to sell.

Just look around on the internet.
sturmgewehr.com is just one place with a few good deals now days.
