Then, when the time comes, do they hide them or turn them in for melting?

I agree. Most will probably be hidden and forgotten.

If they do it will be to pawn shops or gun stores. They won't know where else to sell them.

If the boogaloo starts, it’ll be like door-to-door grocery shopping

    When the pristine S&W 19's, 27's, 29's etc. show up, I'll buy.

I doubt if those are being bought by our panic buyers.

Buying guns from steppers once the panic is gone...seriously brilliant

Glocks have to be the most popular.

Taurus may be up there too. Price and tards at box stores saying they are as good as everything else.

The pistol case at academy was sold out besides single action 22’s and the big bore revolvers like 454 and such

Clarification please. Are saying these brands are inferior, or less than quality handguns?

Surely not. Springfield makes some very nice, and well made firearms. Taurus as well. They did go through a bit of a QC problem some years back, but they got through it. HighPoint, other companies wished they had their warranty. Inexpensive, and decently made. They are still a bit on the blocky and ugly side though.

If your intention is to malign a brand, at least quantify your reasons for doing so.
