Long Range, Range Day

So ... after shooting a bush 4 times at 1000 yards at the LaRue range day I'm thinking it's time we setup some sort of lone range shooting day for the forum.

You'd have to shoot 3 rounds at 250 and 3 rounds at 500 to qualify to shoot the entire range (500, 750, 1000) according to the staff at the range.

This would be at the Best of the West Shooting Range in Liberty Hill.

What do you think about November?

Cant say I ever shot 1000 yard targets. Im game though! What yall shootin, 223, 308, 3006, or 50BMG? I dont have a 50 yet, but it'll give me an excuse!

.223 is a good 500 - 750 yard caliber. You'd need a slick .308 or .30-06 to shoot that far, preferably with a 1:11 or faster twist. The .50 BMG would suck to have on the line, you'd probably be by yourself.

Hell, I usually shoot by my self anyhow. I cant really do the thing I like to do with all them people around.
This might be a good 3006 project. I would kinda like to build a new Elk gun. 1000 yard shooting would be great pratice for hunting Elk.

Texas 1911, I,ve been there at least once a week sense they opened, including today. Any time/day in November would be good for me.
