Getting ready to begin loading 300 blackout. I have some H110 and CFE BLK. Is it worth trying to find or ordering Accurate 1680?
    I’ll be shooting from a 8.3” and 16”” barrel. Unsupressed for now. I have 150gr, 168gr, 178gr and 208gr projectiles.
Thanks for any info or advice you might have.

My son and I have been reloading 300 BLK for a few years now. We mostly use the Alliant Reloader-7. We just plink with subs, 16" barrel, no suppressor, the Hornady 225 gr bullet # 30903. We do an OAL of 2.195 to 2.21, anywhere from 10.0 to 10.5 gr RL-7. The Reloader 7 has been very fun for us.

H110 is good for the midweight supers, as noted, don't download much. If cfeblk doesn't do it, try the 1680. Rx7 was hard to get enough powder in for the fps I wanted. Pistol & carbine, no subs. 145-185gr cast & light vmax/sst. 168 Amax was a pain, Rx7 gets compressed.

I use the H110 with 148-150 grain bullets. I use those slugs because they are also perfect for 30-06 and .308. Lyman #50 manual has very good data on loading the .300 BLK.

The neck of the 300 BLK is cut off right where the 5.56 begins to neck down. That makes it much more reliable/easy to put your powder charge in the case. .300 BLK is probably the easiest cartridge to load IMHO.

I’ve been loading for the BLK for quite a while now.

I’m particularly fond of the 110gn TAC-TX bullet

My rifle is a 16” barrel

I’ve used 300MP (it’s hard to find) and now mostly use H110

I also load the Nosler 125 hunting, for a less expensive plinking round.

I’ve had a lot of fun hunting with my BLK, I’ve stacked up a truckload of pigs and varmints with it. My longest shot is a coyote at 310yds (dropped a pig the night before at 300). It was 2.1 mil to dial the shot.

I haven’t been able to load for the last few months and that’s given me too much time to collect all the things I’ll “need” once I’m ready to get back at it. 300 blackout was one of the things I decided I needed to get into. Did some trading and came home with a 16” rifle and an 8.5” pistol. I think I’ll have the room built and ready to go in another week or two.

I use H110 exclusively for mine. Mostly 125g ballistic tips, shot super out of my 16" upper. Was able to develop a load for the 125g bullets that I can shoot a 1/2" group at 100 yds.

Last night loaded some 165g soft points for my pistol I am building. 165 is as heavy as I will load, and I don't have a can.

I’d like to try my hand at making brass for this project. Can I use a full length sizing die to form the brass after cutting it down? I have a lot of Lake City brass.

I had a faulty case gauge. Had cases dropping in too far. Checked it with factory ammo. Same issue. Sizing with a Hornady die. Working great. Thanks.

I have worked up some test loads in the Hornady 150 gr BTSP Interlock #3033. I have run H110 at 15.5, 15.9, and 16.2 grains, 2.08 OAL. My chrono is broken so I have no FPS readings. All shot fine in a 16" barrel. The 15.5 was light for sure, more like a PCC / plinker load. I also shot this bullet with 17.0 gr IMR 4227 and gun functioned fine.

Didn't like my 150g bullet loads. Switched to Nosler 125g Ballistic Tips.

Loading 17.5g of H110. Don't have a chrono so not sure what velocity is. But they have taken deer and hogs.

Arrived at that load after testing for accuracy. Loaded 4 sets of bullets. My 16" AR likes the 17.5.

Try hodgdon site for load data. Should be able to get the 150 up to 1800 easy with more powder. BT tends to restrict powder some at high loads.
