If you can, find a Marlin. I had a remlin for a while and that rifle was smooth and fed all the 38 and 357 I could put through it. I did not like that it was stainless so I ended up selling it. Looking back I just would have put up with it.

No experience with the Henry but the new side loading gate 357 is probably my next purchase. New production, established firearm company for a good price.

I did briefly own a Rossi/Puma M92 in 44 mag. Poor fit, finish, function. This was about 8-10 years ago, not sure if quality improved.

357 for plinking/fun/SD. 30/30 for hunting and OK for the rest. 45/70 - lots of them around - IMHO kinda overkill.
No such thing as overkill. There is just dead, and dead right there.;) 45-70 all the things:)

    This works too.

About 112 yards, slightly down hill. I waited, was patient. Through the right ear out the left eye. Went down to China town. .308 Savage 99F, not as big a hole though. PAX

I settled in a BA Ruger Model 77 in 357.
    Fantastic rifle
I have lever actions as well (30-30) and from use standpoint the BA is for me easier.
Bought 3 spare rotary mags as well so reloads are quick and the rotary mag is simple to load vs a side gate/tube mag lever.
Rifle was under 8 and the glass was about 2 bills so the set up comes in under 1k

Unless one of those turrets is for illumination, looks like the scope is 90* off. PAX

    Tex,

Do you have any issue with rim lock in your M 357/77 magazines?
I have a 357/77 and I get rimlock on every mag I have.
Always on the third round in the mag. I have to drop the mag and fiddle with the round to get it unlocked.
    Its quite irritating.

Has happened yes. Regularly no. For me it was when they were new. Since Ive put some usage on um this issue has seemed to not rear its head. I have noticed it more when shooting 38s.
I have found it prefers rd nose ammo as far as ease of feed.
Generally I can crank through all 5 rds no issue.

@Moonpie , I think he just said ( very politely I might add) that you have not shot enough and is very disappointed :clown:

Is it an optical illusion, no pun intended, or is the scope mounted backwards?
