Looking for genuine legal advice here. My dad is considering buying a home in TX to make his primary residence in retirement, he’s a gun nut and taught me how to ride so he would lose his shit if I told him I did it.

I rode to the range more than once with an AR strapped on my back. Since I wasn't trying to prove a point, there was no mag in it. Yes, I could have done so legally. No, I wasn't trying to play Billy Bad Ass. If you have an AR pistol, then you need to follow the applicable handgun laws. Those are something I'd research via the net, NOT on a gun board. I would then f/u said research w/my attorney - because being wrong could really, REALLY suck.

Joining something like Texas Law Shield would be a good idea - you could then call them an' ask.

    Just because you can....

Let us know how that works out for you.

    I weep for humanity...

What’s the old saying - you might beat the rap, but you won’t avoid the ride? Probably depends on how frisky any particular officer is.

If you want genuine legal advise, contact a lawyer.

    Beat me to it.

If a lawyer confirms you can, this would be an instance where because you can doesn’t mean you should.

Then call a lawyer if you cannot read and interpret the code yourself.

Oh no I’m being treaded on
