Lee perfect powder measure question or two

I noticed when using it powder seems to leak out the side of what I’m guessing is the drum area. Anyone else have this issue? I’m using Hodgkin h110 if that matters? Also I’m not sure I have the measure set right. According to the manual I should set the measure to .55 cc but not sure this shows .55cc.

yes the finer powders leak badly.

id just scrape it up and refill
for question #2 the best way to guage is weigh the charge that winds up in the case

Cool thanks. I’m 99.99% sure the scale is calibrated and set for my desired charge correctly

Once I set the charge, I check it with a scale. Then check a charge every 10 or so to make sure it stays set.

H110 is one of the most difficult powders to deal with. It leaks, dribbles, and will lock up measures. The one positive is that what little gets out doesn't add up to much so normal "travel" of the powder is not an issue. Just weigh and clean-up

You really need to weigh one of your charges and compare the results to what your reloading manual says. H110 is one of those powders that can detonate instead of igniting if you have less than the recommended minimum charge.

I weigh each charge and according to the Hornady manual my range is 7.3 to 11.7 grains and I’m doing 8.5 grains and I get pretty close to exact as I can with the Lee scale I have. I’m using the Hornady manual because I’m using Hornady cases and bullets. Just an FYI. And when I check the Hornady info against Lee’s newest manual I’m still good to go in charge size. Thanks for the tip
