Has anyone used one of these? We are having a little problem with coyotes, and also have a female mountain lion and two cubs roaming our place east of San Angelo, so it's time to do some varmint hunting.

I saw one in the local gun store, but haven't seen one work.

Anyone have or use one of these or do I need to "take one for the team" and buy it with no reviews and try it out?

Or does anyone have a good alternative...?

I thought they were pretty gimicky until I used one. In absolutely zero light you can still make out definition in the beaten zone of the laser. With a little starlight and moonlight it should compliment night time shooting pretty well. I'm not sure how well the animals are going to react to it though.

I used one that I borrowed from a friend in cold weather (35 degs.) and it didn't work at all. The light was so dim my flashlight out shone it. Apparently the instructions tell you to tape hand warmers to it in cold weather. Not worth the $300 price tag IMO.
