    Just paid my deposit for a new kitchen knife from www.310knifeco.com for an;
    8" Gyuto, W2 steel with hamon line, craftsmans choice of handle material/liners/divider/pins (but I did request a bit of vuudoo blue glow acrylic) and a hardwood sheath. It's going to be a long wait until January! The knives below are an example of the bladesmith's work. I spent $225 for a Wusthof chef's knife 20 years ago and it has served (and will continue to serve) me well, it was time to step my game up.

    Post your knives. I think I started one of these pre crash and can't find the old one.

    Got this today as a gift from a good friend.

    My first knife purchase at 16 with my own money.

    First day on my first job I was threatened by a coworker. I carried a steak knife home (I walked to work) then purchased this from the tip out I got the next day from a grocery store in the same shopping center.

    I grew on him I guess and he was't pissed after a week or two.

    What is the knife under the khukuri?

    When I was back in South Carolina, we had some part time knife makers on our forum there. I had a couple of knives made for me.

    Top is a knife made by Rob Lipe. Rob makes very few knives. I had seen his work and had him to make one for me. Stainless steel blade and old Cocobolo for handle material with nickel silver fittings. The top of the sheath is tooled with a dogwood pattern. I have carried and used this one a lot but the blade refuses to get scratched up. I've had this one for a little over 6 years.

    Bottom is a knife made by a friend that makes even fewer knives than Rob. I saw one of his knives that he calls his Gentleman's Knife and I had to have one. It seems that being a gentleman is not actually a requirement. Stainless steel blade with faux ivory handles and a neat horizontal sheath. The point on this knife is one of the sharpest I've ever seen. I think you could do ocular surgery with it. I carry this one quite a bit, too. I've had this one for about 3 years.

    I bought this new about 1990 and it's just been sitting in a drawer for the last 30yrs. Is there any substantial value to it? Cold Steel Carbon V Made in USA

    Probably worth $150-$250 to a collector. I have some of the old tantos and they go for $250Plus.
    Thanks. Since we moved, I am slowly finding things that have been "missing". For 25 years I knew where everything was, now when I open a box it's like Christmas. Even found my Revo sunglasses :)
