Post your knives. I think I started one of these pre crash and can't find the old one.

Got this today as a gift from a good friend.

My first knife purchase at 16 with my own money.

First day on my first job I was threatened by a coworker. I carried a steak knife home (I walked to work) then purchased this from the tip out I got the next day from a grocery store in the same shopping center.

I grew on him I guess and he was't pissed after a week or two.

My first real knife that I bought. Benchmade griptilian. Ive had a couple of bucks but it doesn't compare to this. I use it every day at work at home and at the range. I beat it to hell and back i don't baby anything I own.

I'm looking for a good fixed blade I can EDC. Are the knife laws with the new LTC going to change? I'd like to carry something a little larger than 3" without having to worry about being stopped and I'm not familiar with knife laws like I am gun laws.

Stay under 5.5 inches on the blade no daggers and you're good

A racing buddy has a forge and began making knives a few years ago.

He and I worked on a knife for cleaning deer and pigs.
I have lobster claw hands and needed something that would fit my hands and small enough to work the cartilage on the backbone inside the rib cage.
And then, easy to clean afterwards.

    came up with this ...

Got to use it for the first time this week and was it worth the wait and price tag.

Knife was well over 5.5" (iirc).
But this was while he was legally carrying a pistol, with his CHL, which made it legal.

Knife blade was 6.25 inches. Carrying a CHL with a gun and the knife 42.06 didn't apply, the same law that makes it legal to carry the handgun. Loophole is not well known, even somewhat debated, and had to get sorted out after an arrest, a night in jail and some court dates and lawyer fees. Judge dismissed the case "In the interest of justice." several months later.

Thanks again to those who supported the case\lawyers fees. I hope it did some good changing TX law in the future. There are some hints that it's helped put a few things on the radar. Perry knew about the case at the time so did Abbott.
